Taupaki House
Nestled among the tranquil hills of Taupaki, this structure forges a powerful connection with its rural surroundings through a design that balances performance with natural aesthetics. Built to Certified Passive House standards, it demonstrates what becomes possible when energy efficiency and considered material selection come together.
For the exterior cladding, Nova-Tulipwood was the material of choice — selected for its exceptional stability, sustainable character, and refined appearance. Thermally modified through Novawood's advanced ThermoWood® process, this material delivers the ideal combination of durability and lightness for Passive House construction. Its warm golden-brown tones harmonise with the natural landscape, creating an aesthetic that is as timeless as it is grounded.
Precisely profiled surfaces establish a calm, measured rhythm across the façade, allowing the architecture to integrate seamlessly with its surroundings. Inside, daylight fills the living spaces with warmth; outside, Novawood cladding reinforces the building's environmental harmony and long-term resilience.
Taupaki House is the result of a successful collaboration with JSC — a testament to how the right material choices and responsible design thinking can produce structures that are both high-performing and deeply at one with nature.
