Christchurch Gem

The Christchurch Gem project is a distinctive undertaking in which a building in the heart of Christchurch city centre was revitalised through a comprehensive recladding application. This transformation has given the structure a contemporary character through innovative wood-based solutions.

At the core of the project is NOVAWOOD NOVA-TULIPWOOD, developed in collaboration with JSC. Produced using Thermally Modified Timber (TMT) technology, NOVA-TULIPWOOD has been engineered for high-performance façade applications, offering superior durability, dimensional stability, and the natural aesthetic of wood.

A bespoke exterior timber oil in a "light frost" tone, applied by JSC, complemented the façade design while enhancing the material's inherent character. This project stands as a testament to NOVAWOOD and NOVA-TULIPWOOD's strong position and innovative approach within contemporary architecture.
