Taupaki House — A Warm, Natural Harmony with Nova-Tulipwood

Set among the quiet hills of Taupaki, this residence embraces the rural landscape with a design that prioritizes both performance and natural beauty. Built to Certified Passive House standards, the home reflects what is achievable when high-efficiency design meets premium, sustainable material choices.

For this project, Nova-Tulipwood, was chosen for its stability, sustainability, and refined look. Enhanced with Novawood’s advanced ThermoWood® process, it offers the durability and lightweight structure ideal for a Passive House. Its warm golden-brown tones blend effortlessly with the landscape, giving the home a timeless aesthetic.

The façade’s precision-profiled boards create a calm, ordered rhythm, allowing the architecture to remain in harmony with its natural setting. While sunlight fills the interior, the Novawood cladding reinforces environmental integration and long-term resilience on the outside..

Taupaki House represents a successful collaboration with JSC, showing how thoughtful material selection and responsible design can create homes that are both high-performing and deeply connected to nature.
